Pre-K 3

St. Edward is adding a 3-year-old class to its pre-school beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, and registration is now open! We are very excited about this program. We have had a 4-year-old Pre-Kindergarten for more than a decade, and we expect the Pre-K 3 to be just as successful.

PK3 General Information:

• We will maintain the current Diocese of Little Rock cut-off date of September 1st. Every child who enrolls must be three years old before September 1, 2010.
• The tuition rate for 3 year olds will be $395 per month and paid from August-May. This does not include after school care or lunch, because so many students do not need after-care, and most of our pre-school students bring their lunches from home anyway. We chose to keep these as separate costs, so that no families would be paying for something that they did not need. After school care runs until 5:30 and is $30 per week or $10 per day.
• Other school fees:
  • Registration is $125 for the first child in a family and $25 for each additional child. However, any students registered in the 3-year-old class by May 28th, will get their registration fee credited towards their August tuition.
  • The supply fee is $275 per child. This fee covers morning snack and all of your child’s classroom supplies including sleeping mats, sheets and pillows, crayons, glue, etc. This fee is paid in June.
  • The building fee is $150 per family and is combined with a $30 PTO due per family, for a total of $180. This fee is paid in July.
  • School lunch is $2.75 per lunch.
• Currently we open the school at 7:30 a.m. We are considering the possibility of starting an early drop-off, but that will depend on the interest we receive. This would be open to students in all grades. We would appreciate any feedback you have on this idea.
• We have set up this class as a 5 day per week class. We know from our Pre-K 4 program that this is the most effective way to prepare children for school. However, we recognize the differences between 3 and 4 year olds, and the schedule for 3 year olds can be flexible to meet your family’s needs.
• We do expect 3 year olds enrolled in the program to be potty trained. While we recognize that accidents will happen more often with younger children, we do expect that accidents will be infrequent.
